Elizabeth Sporne paints – mostly portraits – at her studio in the Art & Vintage Quarter of Bridport, a small but vibrant market town on the Dorset coast. The studio is open to the public most Saturdays 11am-3pm.
She depicts interesting individuals, both well-known and unknown, and welcomes commissions.
Her focus is always the face, without distraction – as, while achieving a convincing likeness of the subject is a must, her deeper aim is to get behind the persona to reveal the person.
"There's no such thing as a boring face."
