Did I say that Good Queen Bess was the only painting that the wonderful Athelhampton House had commissioned from me? It wasn't...

My version of the decidedly unfortunate (see Babington Plot) young poet Chidiock Tichborne – said to have been married to one of the Elizabethan-era owner's daughters – is shown here, both as a work-in-progress in the studio (background) and now installed in the King's Ante Room at Athelhampton.

So much fun doing my own take on older-style work, I get a history lesson every time!
