A Plant for the Gallery

Clearly, this photo wasn't taken in the Gallery at Athelhampton (it was in my studio).
But this painting was completed in time for my current exhibition and is now on display at the historic Tudor manor.
Robert Plant (as of now-ish, rather than in his youthful Led Zeppelin days) turned into one of my favourite subjects; it almost seemed like that face was hovering on the edge of mirth as the portrait progressed. How fitting, given that he has played with the 'Band of Joy'!
My 'Modern Icons' exhibition can been seen in the Gallery at Athelhampton House through the end of November. Do visit, it's a fabulous place.
